About The Meeting
Musculoskeletal MRI is commonly used to diagnose and characterize acute and repetitive stress-related orthopedic injuries, degenerative and inflammatory disease, and tumors of bone and soft tissue. The focus of this unique symposium is a review of orthopedic MRI applications and techniques along with a comprehensive discussion of MRI findings in a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. Information acquired during this symposium is designed to improve diagnostic capabilities and expand clinical applications.

Target Audience
This CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate physicians who supervise and interpret musculoskeletal MRI studies. Thus, it should be particularly helpful for radiologists, orthopedic surgeons, and rheumatologists. This CME activity should also be useful for referring physicians who order these studies so that they might gain a greater appreciation of the strengths and limitations of clinically relevant musculoskeletal MRI studies.

Educational Objectives
Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:
  • Incorporate state of the art musculoskeletal imaging techniques and protocols into clinical practice.
  • Identify and differentiate a variety of musculoskeletal injuries; traumatic and non-traumatic seen with MRI.
  • Discuss the role of MRI in the evaluation of the hip; pre and post surgical intervention.
  • Recognize MRI findings of injuries commonly seen in athletes.
  • Identify image characteristics of bone, tendon, and ligamentous injuries to the wrist, hand, and digits.
  • Apply techniques and protocols for MRI evaluation of cervical spine trauma to clinical practice.
  • Discuss the applications and pitfalls of MR guided diagnostic and therapeutic musculoskeletal injections.
No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.

Course Organization
This program is planned and organized by Educational Symposia, the leader in continuing medical education since 1975.
