A GI Pathology Cruise: Boarding at the Esophagus and Disembarking at the Anus

This full day seminar is designed to provide a practical review of current topics in gastrointestinal pathology. Dr. Elizabeth Montgomery will discuss a wide range of topics with basic introductions and unusual conditions, pitfalls and pearls to gastrointestinal pathology diagnosis. Topics will range from iatrogenic pathology to polyps throughout the gastrointestinal tract to dysplasia and to mesenchymal lesions.

In addition to the live presentations, registrants will receive access to 6 hours of bonus on-demand content that can be viewed at their convenience. This expanded educational package offers an even more comprehensive review of gastrointestinal pathology, covering key concepts, challenging diagnoses, and current issues in the field.

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

• Consider several types of esophageal non-neoplastic lesions, carcinoma precursors, and neoplasms.
• Recognize, assess and diagnose gastric polyps, with attention to the patterns of injury in the surrounding flat mucosa.
• Address various types of neoplastic and non-neoplastic small intestinal pathology, including mast cell disorders.
• Be aware of unusual types of colitis as well as classic forms.
• Recognize various types of syndromic and sporadic polyps of the colorectum.
• Develop an approach to gastrointestinal mesenchymal lesions.
• Discuss a host of forms of iatrogenic injury (particularly medication-associated) to the gastrointestinal tract.
• Describe several recently recognized anal lesions.
